A book cover designed with type and color only. The four lines of text represent the four voyages that Gulliver made. To convey the idea of traveling, the title starts from the top right edge and continues from the left on the line under and so on. The font selection was based on 4 different periods of typography, old style, transitional style, slabs and sans serif to convey the idea that voyages had different experiences.

A full project to create and design a useful space on campus.
The idea came up when we were walking around college and thought how there are many spaces around college that can be used for other purposes. One of these ideas was the Power-Cycle. The idea was initially a training bike around certain areas in the campus to help make students, professors or staff work out whenever free due to their busy schedules. With that came the idea of generating power through the user’s application force. This power will provide, through a converter, a charging outlet and a light source, and that is Power-Cycle.
We did some research after we got the idea and found out that it is actually possible to power a whole house by one hour workout every day. Manoj Bhargava, the founder of the Free Electric hybrid bike was behind this idea. He said that “ When an individual pedals the bike, the action drives a flywheel, which turns a generator and charges a battery. This means from just one hour of pedaling, a rural household can be supplied with energy for 24 hours.” So if we apply that knowledge to these machines we might be able to generate more power than we planned for, and actually can reduce the power cost at Queens College.
